What and when is National Pickleball Day 2023?
National Pickleball Day is a day dedicated to celebrating and promoting our beloved sport of pickleball. At least that is the case in the United States.
The date is easy to remember: August 8. Just think: the 8th day of the 8th month. This year, the day falls on a Tuesday and marks the 58th anniversary of the invention of pickleball.
How National Pickleball Day works
The idea for a National Pickleball Day was started in 2021 by pickleball teacher Deirdre Morris. The idea was to spread the word about pickleball, encourage new players and celebrate our passion for this great game.
This August marks the third National Pickleball Day. As pickleball continues to grow in popularity and the "Major League Pickleball" and "Professional Pickleball Association Tour" are now regularly featured on our TVs, this year's festivities will be the biggest yet.
