This summer, the city of Winterthur is offering a fantastic opportunity to try out the fast-growing sport of pickleball . Until the end of September, four pickleball courts are available on the outdoor ice rink at the Deutweg sports park . Pickleball, a mix of table tennis, badminton and tennis, is played on a court that is the size of a badminton court but resembles a tennis court. Whether in doubles or singles, this game guarantees quick fun and is easy to learn.
Opening hours and use From August 28th to September 20th, the fields are open to private individuals from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sundays until 5:00 p.m. The best thing about it: Using the fields and borrowing pickleball paddles and balls from the ice rink's 'el puck' restaurant are free of charge. All you need to do to borrow them is leave an ID card. Please note that private individuals cannot reserve the fields, but clubs and schools can make a reservation through the Winterthur Sports Office at sportamt@win.ch .
