UPA announces major expansion of PPA Tour with international events in 2025

The United Pickleball Association (UPA) will revolutionize the pickleball landscape with the launch of a series of international events in 2025, significantly expanding the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball . These events will take place on multiple continents, including Australia, India, Canada, Asia and Europe, and will bring over 150 of the world's best professional players into a global competitive circuit.

The UPA International Championship Series will feature top players such as Ben Johns , Anna Leigh Waters and Federico Staksrud , stopping in major cities around the world, and will involve leading operational organizations in each host country to ensure a seamless integration of local and international talent.

Here is a brief overview of the planned events:
  • Australia Pickleball Open: Scheduled for January 29 to February 2 in Melbourne, hosted by PPA Tour Australia.
  • India Pickleball Open: The tournament will take place from February 5 to 9 in Mumbai and is organized by the PPA Tour India.
  • Canada Pickleball Open: Takes place in Toronto in September.
  • Asia Pickleball Open: Scheduled for October in Asia, with exact location to be announced.
  • European Pickleball Open: Also in October, although the venue has not yet been determined.
  • UPA World Championships: This event, held in Dallas, Texas in November, is the culmination of the year's competitions, honoring the best in the sport.
Not only will each tournament feature elite competition, but PPA Tour ranking points will also be awarded, attracting the world's best talent to these unique professional events. In addition, the UPA plans to expand Major League Pickleball's unique format as a team league internationally, with details to follow shortly.

This expansion underscores the sport's growing global appeal and sets the stage for a level of competition never seen before in pickleball history.
